Reduction of the error floor of binary FSK by nonlinear frequency discriminators
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider the error floor of binary FSK due to intersymbol interference in time-dispersive mobile radio channels, with a limiter-discriminator-integrator detector. The errors are caused by bursts in the instantaneous frequency. We propose and verify that a nonlinear frequency discriminator can achieve zero error floor for pure FSK by clipping off these bursts. For filtered FSK, the error floor is not completely removed, but strongly reduced typically by one or two orders of magnitude. The tighter the filtering, the less effective this nonlinearity is. The nonlinear discriminator can be also used in conjunction with adaptive sampling. This work may not be copied or reproduced in whole or in part for any commercial purpose. Signal detection Using Rational Function Curve Fitting
In this manuscript, we proposed a new scheme in communication signal detection which is respect to the curve shape of received signal and based on the extraction of curve fitting (CF) features. This feature extraction technique is proposed for signal data classification in receiver. The proposed scheme is based on curve fitting and approximation of rational fraction coefficients. For each symbo...
متن کاملOptical ASK and FSK Modulation By Using Quantum Well Transistor Lasers
In this paper, transistor lasers (TLs) are used as an optical modulator for generation of ASK(Amplitude Shift Keying) and FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) optical signals. Our analysis is based on continuity equation, rate equations, and the theory of discontinuity of quasi-fermi level at the abrupt junction. Our simulation results indicate that, the specification of ASK and FSK optical signals, ar...
متن کاملMultipath effects of FSK with frequency-discriminator detection
We analyze how multipath effects, namely, errors due to channel-induced intersymbol interference, influence the error probability of frequency shift keying (FSK) with frequency-discriminator detection. We first introduce a new mathematical technique that allows insights into the error mechanisms. This technique is also capable of dealing with frequency shifts of the multipath components, postdi...
متن کاملA Receiver Structure for Frequency-Flat Time-Varying Rayleigh Channels and Performance Analysis
This paper proposes a wavelet based receiver structure for frequency-flat time-varying Rayleigh channels, consisting of a receiver front-end followed by a Maximum A-Posteriori (MAP) detector. Discretization of the received continuous time signal using filter banks is an essential stage in the front-end part, where the Fast Haar Transform (FHT) is used to reduce complexity. Analysis of our recei...

For comparison, the error rate variations of uncoded FSK with LDI detection when BT, = 1 have also been plotted in Figs. 2 4. It is mentioned here that the parameters F,,, and F,, in a Gaussian channe...
